Effective 1/1/09, The Timbermen Fund will have a rate decrease in many of the class codes we currently have filed.  This allows us to be more competitive and offer your clients the peace of mind and stability that they deserve.  The Timbermen Fund is able to decrease our rates due to the continued reduction in total claims. This has been a joint effort between The Timbermen Fund, our agents, and our members.  The Timbermen Fund Safety Department works very closely with our members to help reduce claims and provide a safe work environment for their employees.  This procedure keeps the premiums constant or reduced in an ever-changing market.

Effective 1/1/09 the payroll for Sole Proprietors will increase to $26,000 and Corporate Owners/Officers will increase to $75,000 (maximum) and remain at $5,200 (minimum).  Although we have an increase in the payrolls we are still very competitive and considerably lower than other worker comp. carriers.

1099 Labor:  We will review 1099 labor but the following guidelines will apply:

·         Five years of experience in the field of work OR three years’ loss history for review

·         Three to five years of verifiable payroll-1096’s & 1099’s (if unable to provide we will probably not be able to quote)

·         Pre-underwriting loss control inspection prior to binding

·         A 10-25% debit may be applied

·         Favorable credit score-no unpaid tax liens or judgments

·         Owners may be required to be included
